Born in Centerville, SE Iowa, Bill moved to the Des Moines area at age 7, where he became an all-star Saydel Little League Baseball player and later, a coach. His entrepreneurial spirit emerged early as a paperboy at 12.

After graduating from Des Moines Technical High School with a focus on Electronics/Electricity, Bill worked at Midwest Equipment Company and studied Engineering Design at Grand View University.

His education was interrupted by a three-year stint in the U.S. Army as a Radio Team Chief. Upon returning, he married his high school sweetheart, raised three children, and after two decades at Midwest Equipment Company, founded American Electrical Sales Corp., later changing the name to American Alarms.

With 40 years of experience, Bill now works part-time at American Alarms, focusing on training new technicians and serving as the resident expert on legacy systems.

His competitive nature fuels his passion for ISU and Iowa sports and as an avid classic car enthusiast, he's a longstanding member of the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.

Bill treasures the industry friendships he's cultivated over the years and takes great pleasure in working alongside his exceptional team, making each workday a rewarding experience.
